#24 CHURCH OF CHRIST AND #25 SOPHIA FLATS (MOUNT SOPHIA)- THE LIM FAMILY FIELD TRIP (FINITO)

THE JOURNEY CONCLUDES...

THE CHURCH OF CHRIST OF MALAYA

Kiriel: Papa! Are we done?

Jeriel: Wa Wa WA! (Getting Impatient)

Jeremy: Let's snap a photo together before concluding the day. Anyway, this
church is one of the landmark of Mount Sophia together with the Sikh
temples. The Church was founded in 1958 when Singapore was given
full internal self government (Feels Ignored)

SOPHIA FLATS

Lynette: Dear, Do you need to take
                  this photo?

Jeremy: Ah! Yes! Its the Sophia Flats

Lynette: Ok! Point taken! Take your
Photo first, explain it to me
                  later!

Jeremy: .......

Sophia Flats is another trademark of Mount Sophia. Frank Benjamin, a prominent Jewish member of the community once lived in these flats. Frank's father, Judah had a thriving textile business before the World War II and lived in a big house in Adis road.

After their return from Bombay after WWII, they stayed at Sophia Flats where it was also office for Frank to start his business which later grew to become F J Benjamin, a successful apparel company that deals with brands like Guess, Gap and Banana Republic.

A WELL DESERVED MEAL AT CATHAY

In conclusion.... This is truly a memorable trip for the entire family and the first trip for Adriel (My youngest Son) after his full month celebration. I am glad to bring them on this trip (even if they are very young now) before things might disappear like in the case of Kampungs in future =)
